How I made McDonalds' French Fries... AT HOME!! 🍟

I am ADDICTED to McDonalds' French Fries - they're my favorite! I could eat them for breakfast, lunch AND dinner (not healthy, I know!)

Yesterday, it was raining heavily outside, and I was literally craving those hot, crunchy and salty fries, which make me so so happy!
But since we couldn't get out during the quarantine, I decided to make them myself, and they tasted EXACTLY like the McDonalds fries 😍

Want to know how ? Read on!

Ingredients :

5-6 Russet Potatoes
2-3 tbsp Corn Syrup or Sugar
Salt for taste
Oil - for deep frying (I used vegetable oil, but you can use any oil of your preference)
Water - enough to immerse all the potato slices

Servings :

2 (if you can easily eat one large McDonalds fries all by yourself, just like me! πŸ˜‰)

Prep time :

1 hour

Cook time :

30 mins

Recipe :

1. Peel and cut the potatoes into thin rectangular slices.
2. Put the slices into cold water and add the Corn Syrup or Sugar. (whatever you choose) Corn Syrup and Sugar help in removing the extra starch from the potatoes.
3. Put the fries in the fridge for 30 mins.
4. Heat the oil to 375℉.
5. Start putting the fries in the oil and fry for 30-50 seconds only. The fries should make a sizzling noise as soon as you put them in the oil.
(Make sure the oil is always at 375℉ before you put in every batch of fries)
6. Take the fries out and put them on paper towel.
7. Again put the fries in the fridge, but this time only for 10-15 mins.
8. Heat the oil to 400℉.
9. Put the fries in the oil and fry until they have a nice golden brown color.
(Make sure the oil is always at 400℉ before you put in every batch of fries)
10. Get the fries out on a paper towel when they're done, and sprinkle salt when they're hot!

Ta-da!! Enjoy hot and crispy McDonalds Fries.. AT HOME! πŸ’›
